Adaptors

Huma BI has created Adaptors (Connectors) for a number of bank source systems. These Adaptors are packaged ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) code. They read data from source systems, extract and transform it into the data warehouse structures, then load it into the data warehouse.

Important: No source system program access or extracts are required - the Adaptors understand the underlying structure of the source system and know where to find the data.

The key activity is Transform. Adaptors perform significant transformation, converting source data in many different files and formats into a common banking model in a single database, so providing a single, consistent source of information.

Data can be acquired from almost any type of data source and operational system.

Currently, Huma BI offers Adaptors for:

• Core banking systems: Midas and Midas Plus
• Trade services system: Trade Innovation

We have also:

• Created adaptors for other bank systems at client sites e.g. Aqua (Payments), Eximbills (Trade Finance) and internal systems.
• Imported related data from many other systems e.g. Murex, OPICS, Calypso etc.
• Imported related data from many client-specific files, spreadsheets etc.

Data is typically loaded after the bank's close of business processing each night. All reference data and live transactions are loaded every time which creates a 'snapshot' of the business as at the end of each day. All history is kept which means it is very easy to view any day in the past or perform trend analysis, seeing how information has changed over time.

Important: Information can be loaded at any time, not only at the end of day, allowing intra-day views, reports and analysis
